Stripped of cab.
With the deck off we found that it had been off before at sometime because it had been rust proofed with gold X paint. From the deck to the front of the cab was a different story. It was quite rusty but only surface rust. Still very solid.
One galvanised chassis.
Once the chassis was fully stripped, it was sent the the shop to get galvanised. They put it into an acid bath to get the rust off then into the galvanising bath. Luckily the bath was just a little bit short to fit the whole chassis into so they had to put one end in at a time then in side ways. This made some of the chassis get galvanised twice. Cost $200.00 which was very well worth it.
