The paper work.
Before I can paint or do anything else to the cab I need To get a “ Body certificate” .
Paper work.
Paper work needed to put James back together.
Before I can do anything more to the cab I have to get a body certificate. To get this I had to ring up a panel beater in Gore (40km away) who is certificated in give body cert’s. No one in the town of Invercargill where I live can do this. With the help from a good neighbour called Badger we put James onto his trailer and towed it to Gore. We arrived about 9.00am. There we unloaded James for them so they could check it over and see if I have done everything right. After 3 hours of waiting they told me all my hard work and welding had passed. Then I had to pay $380. It’s like going to the dentist. What ever happens you know it is going to hurt. After paying up I was then told they needed a VIN number to finish the paper work. To get this I had to go to the other side of Gore to another vehicle testing station to get this VIN. This cost me another $70. Then back to the first place to give them this number. By the time we had all the paperwork finished it was 2.00pm. A 45 minute trip back to town in the poring rain and it was all over. Big day full of nerves and a lighter back pocket but it was all worth it. I can now carry on slowly putting James back together.
